When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (hashed, never stored in plain text). When you connect an email account, we store your mail server credentials (encrypted with AES-256) so we can fetch your email on your behalf.
2. What We Don't Do
- We do not read your emails.
- We do not sell, share, or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not serve advertisements.
- We do not use your data for analytics, profiling, or machine learning.
- We do not track you with cookies beyond what is necessary for the Service to function (session and CSRF protection).
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to provide the Service: fetching your email, displaying it to you, and performing actions you request (sending, deleting, starring, etc.). That's it. Nothing else.
4. Data Storage & Security
Email credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256. Your account password is securely hashed. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and app-specific passwords where supported by your email provider.
5. Data Retention
We store your emails locally to provide fast access. If you delete your account, all associated data (emails, credentials, settings) will be permanently removed from our systems.
6. No Third-Party Sharing
We do not share your personal information or email data with any third party. Period. The only exception would be if required by law (e.g., a valid court order), and even then only to the minimum extent required.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you logged in and a CSRF token cookie to protect against cross-site request forgery. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies.
8. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Service. If you need help, contact us.
9. Children's Privacy
Email Beep is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
